Background

The ludo game has been played in Africa from the 80s by different African countries following various versions and basic rules plus regulations. The variation and differentiation of playing the ludo game proved to be the case basically on the cultural aspects of different African countries. The different versions of playing the ludo game did not justify the ends or reality of taking the entire game a step forth or forward.

Just any other sport evolves, develops and transforms, ludo grew to strength over the years whereby different African states through their mother ludo bodies (Associations or Federations) realized the need to take the ludo sport to a greater level. Involvement and engagement was on high gear by different same minded African states to come up with a much better ludo unifying entity across the continent of Africa.

Uganda joined with South Africa plus other African states resolved in 2018 to come up and form a unifying ludo entity in the name of Africa Ludo Federation (ALF) now affiliated to the International Ludo Federation (I.L.F). This became a reality to formalize the Africa Ludo Federation (ALF) starting with willing member states with an aim to rebrand the ludo sport or game.
