Masaka Giants will return to defend their title as Super League Champion alongside other clubs that qualified through the National Ludo Championship of 2024, namely: Namugongo Arena, Kisaasi Youth, Kigoowa United, and Nansana Galaxy. This will mark the 17th season of the league since its inception in 2006. Kazo Hill and Nansana Galaxy are the only two clubs to have won the Super League Champion trophy twice.

While Nansana Allstars, along with Gulu City, had been relegated, they requested to be reconsidered. In accordance with the Super League’s rules, such applications are not declined. As a result, Nansana Allstars has been reinstated on sporting merit in place of Ntinda United, which failed to fulfill the necessary requirements within the stipulated period. Additionally, Nakawa Market and Bulemeezi did not meet the required conditions for participation.

Ssalongo Lubega Vincent, Vice President for Technical Affairs of ULF, affirmed that all clubs were given adequate time to meet the requirements, including an extension in line with the Super League’s regulations.

Furthermore, the two clubs finishing in first and second positions will automatically qualify to participate in the Africa Ludo Clubs Championship (ALCC), meaning no further ALCC qualification events will be held. The next step is for the UNLSL organizing committee, led by Mr. Odur Alex, to begin preparations, including venue inspections, with the expectation that the Super League will kick off in late March 2025.
