LUDO SOUTH AFRICA (LSA)

Federation Background

Ludo South Africa is a sport Federation largely responsible for introducing The Ludo League in various communities of rural and peri-urban South Africa. The Federation’s task is to teach teams and players alike about the many benefits of playing the game but most importantly it is to teach individuals how to play the game.

With a greater sense of social and economic responsibility towards increased and sustainable employment, social development, career advancement through this exciting and unique board game.

Ludo South Africa has been in existence since the early 90s but was only officially established in 2009.

Our Vision

Is to touch and change lives by helping people play successfully.

Our Mission

Is to develop and grow The Ludo League commercially as a mind game sport and a tool to help rehabilitate our youth living primarily in the townships and peri-urban areas. These youth are often misguided and find themselves being drawn into the world of crime and substance abuse. By so doing we will endeavor to create employment for them and the many graduates who are also feeling the pain of being young, educated and unemployed. Our Mission is to introduce The Ludo League as an integral part of our socially driven organisation. We will partner with NGO’s in making sure we coach, mentor and rehabilitate all participants whilst we have in them in the League.

The Ludo League is inspiring, unique and will help keep our often misguided, discouraged and unemployed youth off the streets. The mission is to not only keep them off these harsh streets but most importantly it’s to give them hope. But like any other organisation we wanted something sustainable and permanent, something that will symbolize the uniqueness of our people, the people of South Africa.

The Ludo League stands out from any other sport because of its simplicity and the fact that anyone with hands can participate. There are no special skills needed for one to play in the Ludo League and age restrictions are based on understanding and are almost similar to those of Chess. This sport will appeal to anyone that enjoys playing a board game regardless of their gender, sex or health status.
